Five best computers for effective music production

A huge chunk of the work of a music producer is done with the help of a powerful computer. Nowadays, the minimum requirement for a computer used for music production includes a Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM, and storage larger than 500GB. DJ-producer Haidak shares in this post the five best computers for the gig.

Number one on the list is the Dell XPS 8930. It packs a punch with its Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti 4GB graphics, 32GB RAM, and storage of 512GB SSD and 2TB HDD. Dell released units over the past couple of years to challenge the strength of the iMac and MacBook Pro. Next on the list is the 27-inch Apple iMac. With a Core i5 CPU, AMD Radeon Pro 570X for graphics, 16GB RAM for memory, and 256GB SSD for storage, the iMac is still one of the best computers for music production.

Making it to the third spot is the HP ENVY 750. According to DJ Haidak, the winning setup includes i7 CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB 7200 RPM HDD, 256GB SSD, a card reader, DVD burner, four USB 3.0 ports, Type C, DVI, HDMI, and three display ports, perfect for music production.

The Mircosoft Surface Studio 2 is a mighty music production computer but is a bit unfriendly when it comes to its price tag, much like the Apple Mac Pro, with its price made unavailable on most sites due to its incredibly expensive price. While impractical for many music producers, these two deserve to be on the list.
