Rock bands aren’t the only musical performers that can fill a 50,000-capacity stadium today. What used to be a low-key musical performance in clubs, DJs today are among the most popular artists in the world. They collaborate with new artists and do live performances as well.

One can’t help but think about how one can start a career in being a DJ/electronic musician. According to Haidak, it all starts with the right equipment. If you want to learn to become a DJ in the hope of spinning your songs, here are some must-have DJ equipment.

Input devices: Input devices allow a DJ to play and manipulate music in a basic sense. These input devices are usually turntables and CD decks, which will enable a DJ to mix music and mash-up soundtracks to create unique music.

Mixer: A mixer is an audio mixing console that gives the DJ a lot more options in terms of sound effects and tricks. It can help the DJ transition smoother from one input device to another as well as double as an input device since most mixers come with their own record players.

Headphones: It’s hard for a musician to discern their music without hearing it properly. For electronic musicians, high-quality headphones are needed to hear the rhythm and all the sounds in a song. As a DJ would be using headphones frequently, Haidak recommends purchasing comfortable ones as well to avoid putting too much pressure on the ears.

Haidak produced as a hobby for several years until, at the age of 23, he relocated to the Dutch capital of Amsterdam where he discovered his love for techno. In a short time, Haidak has managed to create a deep and driving signature sound that is strongly influenced by the late '90s techno, house, and electronica.
